Colorado tries to attract hundreds of high paying jobs with tax incentives for aerospace company

• Cheesecake Factory is opening a restaurant at the Colorado Mills Mall. Opening day is May 13th and they plan to hire 300 new staff members for that location. Find those job opportunities here!

• Colorado pledges $5.8M in tax incentives to attract an unnamed 3D printing aerospace company to establish headquarters in Denver. If Denver is selected, this company could bring hundreds of new jobs paying an average of $130,000 annually.

• Bikers can get free beer for using the Bike Street app on their rides.

New Job Timelines

You got laid off.

Or, maybe you have a job but are looking to get a new job ASAP.

You may be available to start tomorrow but practically speaking, that can’t actually happen in most cases.

Companies need time to go through the interview process with you and (likely) many other candidates. Then they need to give you the offer. You accept after a day or so and then you can start shortly after that! Here’s what that could look like in terms of a timeline:

1. Apply to jobs

2. Hear back for a first round interview (1-2 weeks)

3. Go through interviewing & offer (2-5 weeks)

4. Wait for start date (1-2 weeks)

As you can see, you need a minimum of 4 weeks to go from hearing about a first round interview to actually landing a role at your dream company. Although 4 weeks is likely the minimum amount of time, it can often take a lot longer (6-8+ weeks).
